Ephesians 1:4

November 20th 2023

“Even before He made the world. God loved us and chose us in Christ to be Holy and without fault in his eyes.”

What beautiful words are these?! Before He made the world? Just think of it. Before the leaves were set in their place-I was thought of. Before the birds took wings on the air- I was thought of. Before time began, He intended me to be holy, without fault.

Oh, this desire inside me to be just this! Even now, when I know I cannot be, I must remind myself the other words, which till now I’ve left untouched. “IN CHRIST”.

So, we can be seen in His eyes as holy, blameless, spotless through the amazing miracle of Jesus Christ. For though His sacrifice we are given His righteousness- and God calls us chosen, holy and without fault. He who loves, pours that love out on us.

But we know who we are, and the things we do, and the underserving nature we have. Yet Christ has said that we are MADE NEW.

Our old selves are stripped away, and a new self is put on and filled with His righteousness. The character of God. This is why we can walk in freedom, security and peace. For there is no shame in Christ- only forgiveness and love and the desire to put on His righteousness, that we might reflect the goodness of God’s nature.

Lord help me! Strengthen me to reflect this goodness in such a powerful way that it can’t help but point to you.

Help me to show others their inheritance in you, and to teach things that are true and never get confused by thoughts and opinions. I do desire to be brought into your truth. Because your truth is the only truth. I love you Lord and thank you for choosing me. Planning me before the beginning of time.
