Ephesians 1:2

Ephesians 1:2

“May God our Father the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.”

            This verse refers to God as our Father, and indeed, He is more our Father than even our earthly father is, because He created us and knew us even before we were in the womb. He knit us together IN our mothers’ womb.

            He is truly our Father and is always working on our behalf to care for us, love us, and prepare a home for us. He was there when the first trees were planted and the sun peaked for the first time over the earth. When the waters began to move and the fish to swim and the birds to fly. Oh, what sight to behold. To watch and be a part of creation.

Paul asks that He, this wonderful creator, give us grace and peace. He does give it. Freely and beneficially.

At the end of the verse Paul is asking the Lord to give us “Grace” which means: undeserved favor, peace, and “HAPPY CONTENTMENT deep inside”

Well, maybe not happy always, but the knowing that someone bigger than you has it together and has a plan for you even when things on earth seem and are indeed terrible. One who loves you and will rescue you soon and bring you to a place where you will be loved forever.
